Rainer Schönborn is a former German ice dancer, born on May 26, 1962, in Zweibrücken, Rheinland-Pfalz. He achieved notable success with his partner Petra Born, winning the German Championship in ice dancing three times and earning a bronze medal at the European Championships in 1985. The duo also placed ninth at the 1984 Winter Olympics. Initially, they represented ERCH Zweibrücken and later Würzburger ERV. Their coach was Martin Skotnický.
