Dr. S Rajasundaram was a Sri Lankan Tamil activist who advocated for the rights of Tamil people in Sri Lanka using peaceful and democratic methods. He co-founded Gandhiyam, a social service organization named after Mahatma Gandhi. The organization aimed for the economic, social, and cultural revival of Tamils and challenged the oppressive policies of the Sri Lankan government. He was unlawfully imprisoned, along with many Tamil activists, and was tragically killed during the anti-Tamil pogrom of 1983.
