Malcolm Ross (Ralph) McLean (March 26, 1957 – December 25, 2010) was an Australian politician and the first openly gay mayor elected in Australia. He served as the mayor of Fitzroy, Victoria from 1984 to 1985. McLean was educated at the University of Melbourne and worked as a research officer for the Australian Union of Students. After coming out publicly during his mayoral campaign, he remained active in the arts and culture community in Melbourne. He passed away in December 2010, and a memorial was dedicated to him in 2014.
