He began his legal career in 1961, practicing law for 25 years before being appointed to the Jammu & Kashmir High Court in 1986. His roles included Special Public Prosecutor and Additional Advocate General of Jammu & Kashmir. Notably, he represented the state in significant cases and was associated with various prestigious organizations. Sethi passed away on 17 January 2007 in Chandigarh.
