Ramesh Chennithala, born on 25 May 1956, is an influential Indian politician and a member of the Indian National Congress. He was the Leader of the Opposition in the Kerala Legislative Assembly and served as the state Home Minister. Recognized for being the youngest minister in Kerala at 28 years, he has held multiple parliamentary and legislative assembly positions. Chennithala is noted for being the only leader from South India to preside over both the State Students Union and National Students Union, and he represented the Indian Youth Congress during Rajiv Gandhi's tenure.
