Ramin Mehmanparast is an Iranian diplomat known for his roles as the spokesman of the Iranian Foreign Ministry and ambassador to Poland and Lithuania. From October 31, 2009, to May 11, 2013, he served as the spokesperson and was involved in public diplomacy. Previously, he was the ambassador to Thailand (1996-2000) and Kazakhstan (2004-2009). He expressed condolences after the Sandy Hook shooting in 2012 and was nominated for the 2013 presidential election but withdrew shortly afterward.
