He served as a member of the Constituent Assembly after being elected from the Rupandehi-5 constituency in the 2008 election, where he received 11,080 votes. His political career was cut short when he died on April 5, 2015, at the age of 52 due to swine flu and multiple health issues at Grande International Hospital in Kathmandu.
