Cherukuri Ramoji Rao was an Indian businessman, media entrepreneur, and film producer, born on November 16, 1936. He was the head of the Ramoji Group and the founder of Ramoji Film City, the largest film production facility in the world. Rao also managed Eenadu newspaper, ETV network, and Usha Kiran Movies. His business ventures extended to Margadarshi Chit Fund, Dolphin Group of Hotels, Kalajhalli Shopping Mall, Priya Pickles, and Mayuri Film Distributors. He was awarded four Filmfare South Awards, five Nandi Awards, and a National Film Award for his contributions to Telugu cinema. In 2016, he received the Padma Vibhushan.
