Commodore Ramon A. Alcaraz was a Filipino hero of World War II, naval officer, and businessman, recognized for his valor during the Second World War with a Silver Star award. He commanded the motor torpedo boat Q-112 Abra, successfully engaging Japanese aircraft. Alcaraz was a vocal critic of the Marcos dictatorship, leading to his resignation and subsequent arrest after Martial Law was declared. After fleeing to the U.S., he became involved in real estate and the Movement for a Free Philippines. In 2013, the Philippine Navy honored him by naming a frigate after him.
