Ramón Draper i Miralles was a Catalan writer born in Barcelona on January 27, 1935. He was the youngest son of the writer and journalist Joan Draper i Fossas. At 18, he faced disciplinary action in Morocco for robbery, which led to struggles with drugs and alcohol. After rehabilitation in 1968, he focused on studying marginal behavior. His experiences with addiction and prison inspired numerous literary works and articles discussing social marginalization in Catalonia and Spain from the 1970s to the 1990s.
