Prior roles included Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Navy for Budget, director of the Fiscal Management Division in Washington, D.C., and Director of OPNAV N81 Assessments Division. He also commanded USS West Virginia and USS Florida, and held significant leadership roles at the Pacific Fleet and Submarine Group 10.
