Randy John Suess was an influential developer who created the first public Computer Bulletin Board System (CBBS), commonly known as BBS. This innovation quickly gained popularity among personal computer enthusiasts, initially in the United States and later worldwide. Bulletin boards allowed users to connect via telephone lines to share messages, news, and engage with like-minded individuals. Though rudimentary compared to modern internet groups and social media, they paved the way for online communication and evolved to include live chats and games. He co-developed CBBS with Ward Christensen in 1978.
