Rani Chanda (July 1912 - June 19, 1997) was a celebrated artist and writer, known for her contributions to painting and literature in India. Born in Medinipur, she was inspired by Rabindranath Tagore and became a prominent student at Santiniketan. Chanda held solo exhibitions in Delhi and Mumbai and was the first female artist to gain fame in 1948. She actively participated in cultural programs and was also involved in the Quit India Movement, during which she was imprisoned. Her literary works include biographies and memoirs influenced by Tagore and Abanindranath Tagore.
