Rashād Abū Shāwir is a Palestinian short story writer and novelist born in 1942 in the village of Dhakirin in the Hebron district, Palestine. He became involved in Palestinian resistance and held several positions within the PLO. He worked as the deputy editor-in-chief of Al-Katib Al-Filastini magazine published by the Union of Arab Writers and Palestinian Journalists in Beirut. He has been a member of the Palestinian National Council since 1983 and is part of the Association of Short Stories and Novels.
