He contributed to Urdu literature as an editor for magazines such as Daryaft and Takhilqui adab. Amjad was recognized with various awards from both Pakistan and India for his literary contributions. His autobiography, Aashiqi sabr talab, was published in 2015, reflecting on his experiences and insights into Urdu literature.
