Raul Mascarenhas Pereira Junior, born on April 5, 1953, in Poços de Caldas, is a Brazilian saxophonist and flutist. He began his career in 1971 playing at dances and was part of Johnny Alf's group, a significant figure in bossa nova. From 1972 to 1975, he lived, worked, and studied in New York and Paris. After returning to Brazil in 1976, he collaborated with notable artists like Gal Costa, Maria Bethânia, and Gilberto Gil, as well as recording works by Tom Jobim and performing with Mauro Senise.
