Ravi Singh, born in 1972, is a Sikh American entrepreneur and author. He is the first turban-wearing US military cadet, and a Republican candidate for Illinois State Representative. Singh was involved in a lengthy legal battle over felony convictions relating to a mayoral election, and he fought for his right to wear a turban while incarcerated. As the founder of Electionmall Technologies, he pioneered cloud-based political campaign software and became the first Asian to run for the Illinois Legislature in 1998.
