Ravish Malhotra, born on December 25, 1943, in Lahore, Pakistan, is an Indian pilot and former spaceflight candidate. He was the backup for India's first astronaut, Rakesh Sharma, during the historic Soyuz T-11 mission. A test pilot for the Indian Air Force, he was selected in 1982 as one of two candidates for India's inaugural manned spaceflight. After the program was canceled, he returned to his role as a test pilot and later worked at Dynamatic Technologies Ltd. in Bangalore. He achieved the rank of Air Commodore before retiring.
