While incarcerated, he began writing poetry and gained recognition from notable poets like Allen Ginsberg. He married Brenda Frazer in 1959, and their tumultuous life together was documented in her memoir. Bremser performed poetry at The Gaslight Cafe and published five poetry books. He died from lung cancer, leaving a legacy within the Beat literary community.
