Raymond Leroy 'Sugar' Evans was an American football lineman, known for playing as a guard and tackle. A native of Electra, Texas, he played college football at Texas Mines after serving in the Seabees during WWII. Evans earned all-conference honors in 1947 and 1948 and was named Border Conference lineman of the year in 1948. After a brief stint with the Cleveland Browns, he played for the San Francisco 49ers across the 1949 and 1950 NFL seasons. Evans passed away in 2008 in Salem, Oregon.
