Ray Mortenson is a New York-based landscape photographer born in 1944, known for documenting the northeastern US landscape since the 1970s. He captured black and white images of the New Jersey Meadowlands and Bronx's abandoned buildings during 1979-84. His work has been exhibited widely and is part of permanent collections in over forty institutions across the US, Canada, France, and Japan. Among his contributions is the book 'Meadowland', published in 1983, alongside many unique hand-bound photographic books.
