Raymond Leslie Puckett, born on December 17, 1935, is a notable former New Zealand distance runner. He competed in the Olympic Games in 1960 and 1964, as well as the 1958 British Empire and Commonwealth Games. Under the guidance of renowned coach Arthur Lydiard, Puckett achieved a significant milestone by becoming the first New Zealander to complete a marathon in under two hours and thirty minutes, marking an important moment in New Zealand's athletics history.
