Raymond R. 'Ray' Soden was an American politician born on March 26, 1925, in Chicago, Illinois. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and later worked at Illinois Bell Telephone Company. Soden was active in veterans' affairs and served on the DuPage County Board of Commissioners. A member of the Republican Party, he became president of the DuPage Forest Preserve District and was appointed to the Illinois State Senate in 2003. He passed away on June 22, 2012, due to lung disease.
