Ray Wilkinson (1925–2004) was a prominent agricultural news anchor and reporter for Capitol Broadcasting in Raleigh, North Carolina. He began his career in 1948 after serving in World War II, initially working at radio stations in Rocky Mount. In 1963, he joined WRAL-TV and became well-known for covering agricultural markets. He expanded the Tobacco Radio Network's reach and was famous for his Cecil and Leonard jokes about two fictional country friends. Beyond his media work, he supported revitalization efforts in historic Halifax, NC. He passed away in 2004 from complications of Parkinson's disease.
