A graduate of the Maryland Institute, he traveled extensively, creating illustrated journals of his experiences in various countries. His work was featured in the Baltimore Evening Sun, and he published several children's books. During WWII, he sketched military life, later teaching at Pratt Institute. Creekmore designed and built sailboats, establishing a business in Miami. His artworks are held in notable collections, including the Smithsonian and Univ. of Minnesota.
