Raymond George Riles, born on June 1, 1950, is an American convicted murderer known for being on death row in Texas from 1976 until his resentencing to life imprisonment in June 2021. He was convicted for the capital murder of John Henry in December 1974. Riles initially had his conviction reversed but was later resentenced to death. Riles's mental health issues led to debates on his eligibility for execution. Ultimately, he was resentenced to life in prison after a petition filed concerning his mental illness and mitigating factors.
