Aḥmad ʻAlī Ṭāhā Rayyān was an Egyptian Azhar scholar born on February 10, 1939, in Luxor. He served as the former Dean of the Faculty of Shari'a and Law at Al-Azhar University and was a member of the Council of Senior Scholars. He also held the position of President of the Islamic Jurisprudence Encyclopedia at the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs and was a member of the Council of Senior Scholars for the Gulf region. He passed away on February 17, 2021.
