Razie Golami Shabani was an Azerbaijani politician and activist born on April 21, 1925, in Tabriz, Iran. She became the first political prisoner in Iran's history after being repeatedly arrested by the Pahlavi state for her membership in the People's Republic of Azerbaijan. Her first arrest occurred in 1946 when she was just 21 years old. Later, she moved to Germany, where she wrote her memoir titled 'Memoirs of a Woman', published by Aida in Germany but later banned in Iran. She passed away in Germany on January 28, 2013, at the age of 87.
