Mirl Arthur 'Red' McCarthy (1930–1995) was a notable Canadian sportsperson and administrator, best known as a co-inventor of ringette. He also had a career as a professional hockey player and was recognized for his skills in skating and barrel jumping. McCarthy made significant contributions to sports in Canada and was honored posthumously by being inducted into the Ringette Canada Hall of Fame.
