Röhner pursued a distance study at the Literature Institute in Leipzig, graduating in 1978, and attended a special course there in 1982/83. Since 1989, she has been a freelancer in writing, and is a member of various writers' associations, including the Saxon Writers' Association and the Association of German Writers.
