Rein Mets was an Estonian pianist born on March 28, 1957, in Tallinn. He graduated from Tallinn Music High School in 1975 and studied at the Tallinn State Conservatory and Moscow Conservatory. He won first prize at the Ústí nad Labem competition in 1972. Mets taught piano at Tallinn Music High School from 1984 to 1997, performed concerts, and recorded various works in the 1970s and 1980s. His 2000 CD titled 'Mängib Rein Mets. Öölaul.' is notable. Due to a serious illness, he had to give up both concert activities and teaching.
