Rein Wolters is a journalist born on May 8, 1946, in Rotterdam. He worked for 'Vrije Volk' starting in 1959 and moved to 'Rotterdams Dagblad' in 1991. Wolters retired early in 2007 and has written or contributed to about fifty historical books about Rotterdam. He has received several awards for his volunteer work, including the silver Erasmus pin from the Municipality of Rotterdam in 1999 and was appointed a member of the Order of Orange Nassau in 2007.
