Remei Margarit i Tayà was a Spanish psychologist, singer-songwriter, teacher, and writer, born on December 25, 1935, in Sitges and passed away on October 12, 2023, in Barcelona. She was a prominent figure in the Nova Cançó movement and co-founded the music group Els Setze Jutges in 1961. Margarit also worked as a teacher, editor, and journalist, contributing columns to various newspapers. She published works in poetry, narrative, and essays and was collectively awarded the Gold Medal of Honor by the Parliament of Catalonia in 2007 for her contributions to music and culture.
