Rengaswamy Ramesh (1956–2018) was an esteemed Indian climatologist and oceanographer known for his work in paleo-climatic and paleo-oceanographic studies. He served as the Satish Dhawan Professor at the Physical Research Laboratory and held a senior professorship at the National Institute of Science Education and Research in Bhubaneswar. Ramesh was an elected fellow of major Indian science academies and received the prestigious Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Prize in 1998 for his significant contributions to Earth, Atmosphere, Ocean, and Planetary Sciences.
