Rhina Aguirre Amézaga (1939–2021) was a Bolivian disability activist, politician, and sociologist. She served as a senator for Tarija from 2010 to 2015, becoming the first blind person in Bolivian history to hold a parliamentary seat. Her activism was rooted in early opposition to military dictatorships and included work with human rights movements. Blinded by toxoplasmosis, she championed disability rights and collaborated with social organizations during her exile in Ecuador. Aguirre's blend of liberation theology and left-wing politics shaped her advocacy throughout her life.
