Rhondda Elizabeth Jones (born 2 November 1945) is a prominent academic who became the first Professor of Zoology and the first female professor at James Cook University. She held the position of Deputy Vice-Chancellor from 1997 to 2000 and chaired the Academic Board there. As of 2019, she serves as the Director of Research Development in the division of Tropical Health & Medicine at the same university. In recognition of her contributions, she was appointed a Member of the Order of Australia in the 2020 Queen’s Birthday Honours List.
