Richard William McIver, born on August 28, 1958, is a Canadian politician representing Calgary-Hays in the Alberta Legislative Assembly since 2012. As a member of the United Conservative Party (UCP), he currently serves as the minister of municipal affairs. McIver's political career began in 2001 when he was elected to Calgary City Council, remaining until 2010. He joined the Progressive Conservatives and was elected MLA in 2012, becoming a cabinet minister until 2015. He served as interim PC leader from 2015 to 2017 and returned to cabinet with the UCP in 2019.
