Richard John Cheeseman Jr. is a vice admiral in the United States Navy and a surface warfare officer. He has held significant positions, including the deputy chief of naval operations for personnel, manpower, and training since June 3, 2022, and the 60th Chief of Naval Personnel. His previous roles include special assistant to the Commander of the United States Fleet Forces Command and commander of Carrier Strike Group 10. Cheeseman is a Pennsylvania State University graduate and later completed his master's at the Joint Advanced Warfighting School.
