Richard Wade Cooey II was an American murderer born on June 9, 1967. In 1986, he, alongside Clinton Dickens, committed the murders of Wendy Offredo and Dawn McCreery in Akron, Ohio. Cooey gained notoriety for his claim that his weight of over 275 lbs made him too obese to face execution, a defense that was ultimately dismissed by the courts. Cooey passed away on October 14, 2008.
