Richard Stephen Hawkins, born on April 2, 1939, is a prominent bishop within the Church of England and serves as a chapter canon at Exeter Cathedral. He received his education at Exeter College, Oxford, and trained for ordination at St Stephen's House. His early ministry included being a team vicar in rural Devon and Exeter. Hawkins served as the Archdeacon of Totnes before becoming the suffragan Bishop of Plymouth, and was later translated to Crediton. Notably, his father, John Hawkins, was also an Archdeacon of Totnes.
