Richard Aaron Hortness is a Canadian former competition swimmer born on May 23, 1985. He competed in the 50-metre freestyle at the 2008 Summer Olympics held in Beijing, China, and was also a member of the Canadian 4 × 100 m freestyle relay team at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London. After his swimming career, he transitioned into education and currently teaches at South Delta Secondary School in Tsawwassen, Delta, Canada.
