Richard Huziak is a Canadian amateur astronomer born on March 18, 1957. He is known for his significant contributions to astronomy, including over 181,000 observations of variable stars. The International Astronomical Union honored him by naming main-belt asteroid 4143 Huziak after him. He served as the president of the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada Saskatoon Centre for six years and is a prominent member of the American Association of Variable Star Observers. His awards include the Chant Medal and Service Medal from the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada.
