Richard J. Evans is a British historian, born on September 29, 1947, who specializes in 19th and 20th-century European history, with a particular focus on Germany. He has authored eighteen books, including the acclaimed three-volume work 'The Third Reich Trilogy' (2003-2008). Evans was the Regius Professor of History at the University of Cambridge from 2008 until his retirement in 2014 and served as the President of Wolfson College, Cambridge from 2010 to 2017. He has been a professor at Gresham College in London since 2014 and has received a British knighthood.
