Richard Lee McNair, born on December 19, 1958, is an American convicted murderer recognized for his exceptional escape abilities. In 1987, he committed murder during a failed robbery and was sentenced to life imprisonment. He escaped from prison three times using ingenious methods, including manipulating handcuffs and crawling through ventilation ducts. His most notable escape was on April 5, 2006, when he disguised himself as a jogger. After evading capture for over a year, he was apprehended on October 25, 2007. His story gained public attention through prison correspondence with journalist Byron Christopher.
