Richard William Murden (1906–1997) was an Australian politician who served in the New South Wales Legislative Assembly from 1953 to 1959 as a member of the Liberal Party. Born in Sydney, he was initially a French polisher before owning a furniture shop. Active in local organizations, he served as an alderman and twice as mayor of Ashfield. Murden won the Ashfield seat in 1953 and retained it until 1959 when he was defeated in the newly formed seat of Ashfield-Croydon. He retired from politics and was honored as a Member of the Order of Australia in 1975.
