Richard Arvin Overton was an American supercentenarian, born on May 11, 1906, and passed away on December 27, 2018. He was recognized as the oldest verified surviving U.S. World War II veteran at the age of 112 years and 230 days, making him also the oldest man in the United States during his lifetime. Overton served in the United States Army and lived in Austin, Texas, from 1945 until his death. In 2013, he received recognition from President Barack Obama.
