Richard Steele Shalders, born on March 14, 1938, is a former Australian politician and Liberal Party member. He served in the Legislative Assembly of Western Australia from 1974 to 1983, representing Murray. Born in Perth, he worked as a schoolteacher and principal before entering politics. Elected in 1971, he became a minister under Premier Ray O'Connor in 1982 but lost his seat in the 1983 elections. After politics, he was active in various businesses in Mandurah, including real estate and a bakery.
