Richard Thurston, born on January 6, 1973, in Boston, Massachusetts, is an American musician, songwriter, and mixed martial artist. He moved to Florida as a teenager and played in various hardcore and metalcore bands, including Timescape Zero and Walls of Jericho. A multi-instrumentalist, he has performed on guitar, bass, and drums, and has been straight-edge and vegan since 1994. Thurston began his mixed martial arts training in 2003 and turned professional in November 2006 following an injury in his amateur debut.
