Richard Thomas Olson, born November 18, 1949, is an American politician and lawyer. He served in the Michigan House of Representatives as a Republican from 2011 to 2013. Olson is a graduate of Michigan State University and Stanford Law School, previously working in legislative roles in Washington state. In 2014, he was seriously injured in a cycling accident. After retiring in 2015 to Minnesota, he announced plans to run for Congress in 2020 against Angie Craig. Olson is married to Linda and has two children.
