Ricky Wellman, born Ricardo Dalvert Wellman on April 11, 1956, was an American drummer who made significant contributions to the music scene. He joined Chuck Brown's band The Soul Searchers in 1976, staying until 1987. Wellman played on Miles Davis's 1989 album Amandla and toured with him. Later, he toured with Santana in 1997 and collaborated with musicians like Kenny Garrett, Bob Belden, and Paolo Rustichelli throughout his career. He passed away at the age of 57 from pancreatic cancer. His father, Frank Wellman, was also a drummer.
